Traditional slots seem to be ignored a lot of the time every time a new update or set of brand-new releases of slots are due but we all must remember where the great game of slots originated from in the first place! Gold Rush is a great example of remembering the old but not forgetting the modern (by using more up-to-date devices).

The interface is the standard type provided by Rival Gaming Software with less than impressive graphics and sound. The animation is smooth but slightly sluggish, and the sounds aren’t exactly the most expressive to add further atmospheric layers, but then again; all these extra details are what we expect in today’s world.

For a traditional slot, Gold Rush ticks all the right boxes; a choice of three paytables dependant on whether you play one, two or three coins a spin, a wild symbol with attached multipliers and all the standard options you could expect. The rustling wind in the background, rather poor looking top award (which only looks reasonable from a high-risk bet), and lack of too much controlled detail are the bad points. However as a package Gold Rush is surely a brilliant step for those looking to bridge the gap of the standard no-features traditional slots with the more up-to-date video slot types.

Look especially for the gold-seeker icon for he has the power to drop the better prizes hidden in this slot. Look out for the other icons relevant to the theme such as the gold-pans, money bags and even the more traditional BARs.

Though it isn’t the greatest of slots available, if you are new to slots gaming, or looking for a break from the multitude of video slots that now encompass the market, Gold Rush could be an ideal stepping stone.

Wild Symbol

The wild symbol is the gold-seeker. Spin three across the payline to drop the top awards (depending on how many coins you have played with). If you use one or two in conjunction with a pair or single icons respectively, the gold-seeker will substitute him for those icons to help produce further winning combos. Using one or two of the gold-seeker to create a winning combo will automatically multiply your winnings by 2 or 4 times respectively. This symbol is certainly a highlight of this game compared with its general lacklustre showing.
