Review

Apart from the features that this online slot contains, the biggest faults are apparent from the off. From the minute you open this video slot you can see that not much thought has gone into making it an original experience. Press the buttons to choose your coin values, coins per line and how many lines you want to bet and you’ll already be familiar with the sounds that you hear. This stretches to the reel animations and regular symbol wins too. Even the animation isn’t faultless with us experience some of the slowest reel spins every in a video slot.

The choices of icon illustrations are brilliant for the Princess, the scattered Harp and the King, but all too often you feel let down by the monotonous recycled icon such as the high-card values. Look to spin the king on the reels as it is the highest earning regular symbol available. Spin 2, 3, 4 or 5 across an active payline to get a prize of 5, 100, 2,000 or 10,000 times your line bet respectively. The animations for the aforementioned scatters, wilds and top earning symbols are rather stunning but as they are few and far between, Celtic Crown could lose a lot of interest quite quickly.

Fortunately for us all, we have targets to aim for especially the bonus feature, free-spins and the classic Microgaming gamble feature. Though this slot does lack much originality from a recent release, those familiar and fans of the regular Microgaming slots which feature simple background casino noise, plain sounds and a regular interface coupled with mediocre spin speed will like this game as it can unassumingly blend into the background of many previous Microgaming classics.

Wild Symbol

The substitute symbol of the Princess is arguably one of the handiest icons to reveal from a spin. Though she only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4, she can substitute herself for all other icons (excluding the scatter) to help produce you winning combinations. She can also trigger The Princess bonus feature too.

Scatter Symbol

The Harp is the scatter icon which can win you multiples of your entire spun bet. Show 2, 3, 4 or 5 across the reels in any position and multiply your full spun wager by 2, 5, 20 or 100 times respectively. Three or more will also trigger the start of some free-spins.

Free Spins

Three or more of the scatter icon across the reels will reveal their hidden free-spin amounts that you can add and count as your free-spins.
