For a video slot, Dad’s Day In takes a radical approach to the theme of a game. Obviously targeted for the female audience that would like to see their ‘better halves’ attempt to outshine all the woman’s efforts in the household, this game is certainly light-hearted if not slightly controversial!

Although the icon illustrations seem amusingly detailed along with the whole interface having a 50’s ‘makeover’, the typical Cryptologic reel spins and traditional video slot sounds that are so common in many other games have returned, leaving you with a rather large anti-climax for a newly released slot. The sooner the developers realise that the smallest of details can have the biggest of impacts, the better the results will be for all of us!

On the plus side, when certain combos are triggered, animations such as the ‘Stressed Father’ or the ‘Crying Baby’ have an originality about them that actually contributes well to the slot. Other than these icons that also happen to be the wild and scatter symbols respectively the main icon you will want to reveal is the ‘Mother on the telephone’. 2, 3, 4 or 5 of her spread across an active payline will win you a line multiplier or 5, 60, 600 or 6,000 times respectively.

The other icons on the reels, such as Teddy Bears, Rubber Ducks, 50’s Hoovers and Washing Machines add a little more depth to the theme and are vast improvements compared with the usual high-suit card values that Crypto slots usually feature.

Wild Symbol
